An Autograph May Confirm Major Avengers: Infinity War Fan Theory
Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan may have just confirmed a major fan theory about the status of Steve Rogers in Avengers: Infinity War thanks to an autograph.
New life has been breathed into the theory that Captain America abandoned his superhero identity following the events of Captain America: Civil War. While at Ace Comic Con in Glendale, Arizona, Evans signed a Captain America shield with the name Nomad. Stan followed his co-star’s lead, adding “I’m with Nomad” next to his signature.
Disillusioned with the superhero community in the face of the Sokovia Accords, Cap may have gone off the grid after breaking his friends out of prison. In the Infinity War trailer, he is seen with longer hair and a beard, hidden in the shadows. This has led fans to believe he has been continuing to fight for justice under the moniker Nomad, a codename he has used in the comics before.
Could this be an actual reveal to an important plot point by the actors, or are they just messing with us all? Time will tell…
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 28. The film stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, and Josh Brolin.
