Supergirl: Mon-El Gets a Comics-Accurate Costume in Midseason Promo
Supergirl‘s Mon-El is going to ditch his blue leather Legionnaire costume for something a little more Super. In a promo for The CW’s midseason lineup, the Daxamite sports a red-and-blue costume, complete with a cape.
Mon-El's new costume on Supergirl looks like it was pulled straight from the comics.
Just last week, The CW showed Mon-El in a costume that bears no resemblance to his comic book counterpart, which he wore in the midseason premiere “The Legion of Super-Heroes.” The earlier photo found him in a blue leather jacket rather than a true superhero getup.
However, the trailer puts Mon-El in his traditional red-and-blue military-inspired costume, complete with epaulets and flowing cape. The center of the costume has a triangular imprint that mimics the House of El’s symbol as it appears on Supergirl and Superman’s costumes.
The rest of the promo — which features stars from The Flash, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Riverdale and more — doesn’t seem to contain any other surprises. You can check it out for yourself below:
Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
