Mission: Impossible - Fallout Official Trailer released by Paramount Pictures
Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt is back in action – with Christopher McQuarrie calling the shots again – in the Mission: Impossible – Fallout trailer. After Cruise’s on-set injury back in August threatened another delay in the film’s release date, principal photography on the sixth Mission: Impossible film resumed, keeping it on schedule to make its currently-scheduled summer 2018 theatrical release.
At this point, it’s difficult to fathom how Cruise and his team continue to pull off the stunts in the Mission: Impossible films, which Cruise, apparently, really likes doing himself. We’ve watched him do everything from hanging outside the tallest building in the world in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, to clutch for dear life onto a real-life plane in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
Despite his age, the action star is still willing to up the ante in the sixth installment of his spy thriller franchise, via the heart-stopping action set pieces that have become the series’ crown jewel. Thanks to this new trailer, we now have an idea of what death-defying challenges Cruise and McQuarrie have concocted for Hunt and his cohorts, this time around. Following its debut at the big game, Paramount Pictures has now released the official Mission: Impossible 6 trailer online. Check it out above.
It’s amazing to think that this is the sixth film in the spy-fi franchise especially with the kind of action set pieces and another intriguing premise for Fallout. The two and a half minute preview is a visual feast with a good combination of stunning landscape shots, character interactions and of course, Cruise in some sort of stunt work. It seems like he has done more death-defying scenes in this film like hanging (and falling?) from a glass ceiling and an airborne helicopter, rock climbing without any safety gear, jumping in between buildings and partaking in an intense motorcycle chase on the streets of Paris. We sure hope they saved some good bits in the film itself and not show all of them in their first trailer.
We’ve seen bits and pieces from the Mission: Impossible – Fallout marketing kicked off by Cruise’s reveal of the film’s official title and its synopsis. Since then, Paramount has continued to release official stills and spots to hype people up for the debut of the trailer. But even before the movie started its promotions, it has become a topic of conversation after it was revealed that Warner Bros. had to digitally remove Cavill’s slick mustache for the long-running thriller series. As it turns out, execs at Paramount didn’t allow the actor to shave his ’70s-inspired facial hair when he was called back to reshoot some Superman scenes for Justice League. The result was pretty horrible, with the 34-year-old’s upper lip looking all sorts of odd in almost every scene that he was in the superhero ensemble flick.
