Hulkbuster 2.0 Design Showcased in Avengers: Infinity War Licensing Art
What appears to be leaked licensing art from Avengers: Infinity War may offer the best look yet at the Hulkbuster armor that will appear in the film.
The image, which you can see on Reddit, shows a redesign of the suit that Tony Stark used to fight the Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The new suit appears to be sleeker, with tinges of silver to it; less blocky than the original design, this secondary version seems like it has been streamlined to be more fluid in combat.
Though it wasn’t shown much in the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer, we did see Bruce Banner with a Hulkbuster arm in Wakanda, hinting that it may actually be him — not Stark — inside this new suit when Thanos’ Black Order invades.
Stark first used the armor, codenamed Veronica, after the Scarlet Witch mentally manipulated Banner and unleashed an enraged Hulk on his teammates. Stark knocked him out and won that battle, but — with Thanos set to create havoc like never before — this upgrade will undoubtedly be crucial in the battle to come, no matter who’s piloting it.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie. The film opens May 4, 2018.
