Supergirl ‘Fort Rozz’ Photos Feature Superman Movie Alum Sarah Douglas
Sarah Douglas will be appearing in the upcoming Supergirl episode “Fort Rozz“. The British actress is probably most famous for playing the role of the murderous Kryptonian Ursa, right-hand to General Zod, in the original Superman movies.
Episode 11 of Supergirl‘s third season, “Fort Rozz” will see Kara Zor-El forging a reluctant alliance with Saturn Girl (the wife of her ex-boyfriend Mon-El), the psychic Psi and shock-jock super-villain Livewire in order to infiltrate the titular fortress in search of someone who can tell them about the origins of the villain Reign. Once contained within The Phantom Zone, Fort Rozz served as Krypton’s most secure prison before it crashed to Earth along with Kara Zor-El over a dozen years before the Supergirl series opened. Much of Supergirl‘s first season was based around Kara’s efforts to contain the Fort Rozz escapees, including her own aunt.
Preview pictures of the episode were released via The CW. In addition to depicting Douglas, the photos also show a fight between Reign and Livewire as well as a curious photo of Livewire in a pink waitress uniform.
The photos from “Fort Rozz” featuring Douglas show her wearing a black hooded robe with the same skull-shaped Kryptonian crest worn by Reign. According to The CW, Douglas will play a character named, Jindah Kol Rozz, who is based out of Fort Rozz – and given the character name, she undoubtedly has a connection to the Kryptonian prison. However, whether she’ll help Supergirl in the Girl of Steel’s endeavor to defeat Reign remains to be seen.
Douglas is the latest actor with a previous connection to Superman to make an appearance on the hit CW series. Helen Slater, who played the part of Supergirl in the 1984 Supergirl movie, was cast in a recurring role as Kara’s adoptive mother Eliza Danvers. Dean Cain, who played Clark Kent and Superman in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, plays the part of Kara’s adoptive father Jeremiah Danvers. Teri Hatcher, who played Lois Lane on Lois and Clark, appeared in Supergirl‘s second season as Mon-El’s mother, the sinister Queen Rhea of Daxam. And most recently Erica Durance, who played the part of Lois Lane on Smallville, was recast in the role of Kara’s biological mother, Alura Zor-El, previously played by Laura Benanti.
The “Fort Rozz” episode of Supergirl is scheduled to air on January 22, 2018.
